Frank was introduced to Yoga in 2017 by his wife Lisa. She suggested Yoga as an effective way of coping with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and combatting the idea he was aging. The practice paid dividends as he found more love and respect for his body. He followed Lisa in obtaining a 200-plus hour teaching certification from Master Yoga Teacher Melanie Lighthouser at Root to Rise in Fort Collins, Colorado, and will receive his certification in July of 2018. Both joyful and grateful, he found the practice of Yoga alleviated the predominant PTSD’s symptoms of depression and anxiety while making him stronger and happier. His focus is to attract fellow veterans and athletes in cultivating the overall benefits of becoming the “best possible” people they can be through developing such skills as breathing and meditation to improve the mind, body and spirit.
Frank is also a Reiki, Level II practitioner, practicing energy healing for the past year since receiving his certification in February 2018. Frank has been a soldier for 23 years (a combat veteran with two tours in Afghanistan); a media professional for more than 30 years; and an educator in public schools for five years. He is currently employed by the Small Business Administration, Office of Disaster Assistance, as a public affairs specialist. Frank recommends Yoga to anyone seeking to be happier through authentic connections, believing strongly in yoga’s power to change lives through the practice. He will tell anyone who asks, that Yoga saved his life. “Coming to the practice late is far better than not coming at all.”
